FOUNDATION SELECTS ENO FELLOWS CLASS OF 2006

Nineteen of the nation's most exceptionally promising graduate and doctoral students who plan to pursue careers in transportation were named 'Eno Fellows' by the Foundation's Board of Regents in March. The new Eno Fellows will participate in the Foundation's 14th Leadership Development Conference (LDC), an intensive week-long professional development program held each spring in Washington, D.C. This year's LDC is scheduled for May 22-26.

The 2006 Eno Fellows, representing 15 universities and colleges, are pursuing degrees in areas including civil engineering; community, regional, and urban planning; environmental engineering; transportation engineering; and transportation technology. Eno Fellow candidates are nominated by university and college faculty.

"This year's Eno Fellows class consists of an extremely talented group of individuals from a wide range of study disciplines," said Dr. Michael Meyer, chairman of the Eno Board of Regents and a professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. "We welcome them to the Eno family, and we hope their LDC experience will serve them well as they begin their transportation careers."

At the LDC, Eno Fellows will meet with top executive branch and congressional officials and industry executives to gain a real-world perspective about how transportation policies are drafted, debated, shaped, and ultimately determined. In addition to receiving an introduction to "how Washington works," the Fellows forge professional relationships with their colleagues and are welcomed into the dynamic network of alumni from past LDCs and other Eno Foundation professional development programs.
